Can gold be found in small quartz rock no more than 5 feet underground? I was told that loose quartz has no gold in it so there is no point in using a rock crusher/powdering machine, and the old gold will be loose in the soil, not in the quartz.
Common gangue minerals in gold ores include quartz, fluorite, calcite and pyrite, but many others can be found in smaller amounts. This piece of gold ore does not look very spectacular, but millions of tons of this material have revolutionized gold mining across the world. It is a sediment hosted bulk gold deposit.

The ore is often brown, ironstained rock or massive white Quartz, and usually contains only minute traces of gold. To extract the gold, the ore is ...
Vein Mineral Deposits includes a considerable variety of ore deposits formed under various conditions by the concentration of the ore from the molten rock in process of cooling, and its subsequent deposition in fissures and joints, crevices, and pores; or the accompanying solvents make room for the ore by dissolving the rock and carrying it away.
Many ores that contain gold contain other metallic metals in them also, so there are likely to be a lot of shiny minerals mixed into the rock which may or may not be valuable. The other challenge in visual inspecting gold ores for possible gold content is the fact that the total concentration of gold in a piece of ore is generally negligible ...

Iron oxide copper gold ore deposits (IOCG) are important and highly valuable concentrations of copper, gold and uranium ores hosted within iron oxide dominant gangue assemblages which share a common genetic origin. These ore bodies range from around 10 million tonnes of contained ore, to 4,000 million tonnes or more, and have a grade of between % and 5% copper, with gold contents ranging ...
The Geology of Coarse Gold Formation. ... Its hard to imagine things like gold or quartz being dissolved by water solutions, but if the water is hot enough, the pressure high enough, and the chemistry is right (acids, and other elements like sulfur are present), then gold, quartz and other things you don''t expect to see dissolving will go ...

Gold production at Prestea is limited to the quartz lodes. A main reef and two subsidiary reefs hosted in carbonaceous metasediments constitute the quartz lodes at .
Nether quartz ore has the same blast resistance as other ores, which is more than the quartz block and netherrack combined. The texture of nether quartz is the same as netherrack''s, but with white streaks added. A similar design is used in the coal block, but with black streaks on a stone block.
